DUI Defense Special Report

DUI Defense Lawyer in Springfield

What you should do to handle your DUI

Following an arrest for drunk driving, you are probably wondering what your next step should be.  If you are like most people, you are probably quite worried and afraid of the consequences you now face.  You probably have no idea what comes next.  Well, Springfield DUI Defense Attorney. Attorney Irwin Pollack knows exactly what you need to do and he can help you by providing a complete defense for you.  So your first step should be to contact our office.  You will find that we will present you with all the assistance you need to get your through the DUI Process

Depending on where you traffic stop happened, what likely occurs is that you are asked to step out of your vehicle and then you are searched.  Your car is likely searched as well.  The field sobriety tests are given by the police officer, and he determines if you are OUI.  At that point you are probably handcuffed and your vehicle towed away.  You are taken to the station to get booked.  At the station you are fingerprinted and photographed before being locked up.  Once all the processing is done, you will get out but your license will be suspended, so you need to figure out a way to get home.  Your car may likely have been impounded as well.

In most cases by the next business day you will be arraigned.  This is your first court appearance, where it will be to your advantage to have our experienced lawyers by your side.  You do not want to plead guilty automatically.  This is a poor choice as it can result in jail time.  This is where our office can likely plead not guilty for you, depending on the exact circumstances of your arrest.  At this point  our aggressive and skilled attorneys will request all of the evidence in your case and will be carefully examining all of it from the very beginning of your traffic stop, to your being given a breathalyzer test and being booked.  From those records we will be able to establish a defense on your case, including challenging some of the basic areas where errors are made by arresting officer, such as why you were stopped in the first place, how the field sobriety test was done, whether there was video of your arrest, and the accuracy of your breathalyzer test.  We will review all of this data in detail to provide you with a defense that can possibly have your charges dismissed.  Regardless of what you may be thinking right now, just because you were charged for DUI does not mean you have to be convicted!
