Springfield DUI Defense Lawyer
How Out-of-State Offenses can affect your DUI Conviction
You may find that you are confronted with a situation of having to handle an out of state DUI situation. Massachusetts law requires the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) to regard an out of state violation "as if said violation had occurred in the Commonwealth." So if you were visiting another state and your license was suspended or revoked while you were there, your Massachusetts license will also be suspended or revoked. You will be required to have your license reinstated in the other state where it was suspended prior to having your Massachusetts license reinstated.
